I allow myself to copy paste, but only in instances where it feels appropriate. The characters aren't meant to be motionless in this page, so it didn't feel appropriate. ...Hence it was a loathesome page to work on 8T

Ah'll sithee later.

It's amazing how you can draw things so exact between panels. Like the size and placement. I can never get it right like that! You have such a great eye.

@Cave: It's actually not the same, there's some very slight alteration in the eyes and mouth, which I appreciate since it gives an impression of a very slowly changing expression.

@Guest: I mean like the size of the heads and stuff. I have a difficult time keeping things the same size between panels like this.

Reply H0lyhandgrenade, April 3rd, 2019, 9:33 pm

@Cave: It is really difficult, and in truth I feel like I should confess working digitally makes this a lot easier. If I draw a head too small, I can resize it xD I actually highly recommend digital penciling to any comic artist. It saves a world of hurt and redrawing.

@H0lyhandgrenade: True! I actually do all digital now which has made getting this type of thing exact much easier.

Haha, yeah, the cuiburn are quite fierce. XD Hopefully they'll recognize them. ;P

No place like home Oh wow! It is Toby. Probably wondering why they left and his chores.

Reply Zelkova, April 3rd, 2019, 8:36 am

I love the extra effort you put into your work. Even it might be unnoticeable to some the fact you redrew things means they won't be exact between panels. It will be different enough on the same face to give a sense of life. Just like how our real life faces may not change by a huge amount between a few seconds but are technically different due to any movement even if slight compare to before. I believe I said this once before (though it might been on Mokepon) but the more perfect you make something the less someone would question it. Any lack of notice is due to the fact it isn't uncanny enough to cause anyone to notice in the first place. It is so easy to point out the bad but it is extremely hard to acknowledged when something is done right as it is expected.

Always love when you give commentary may it be alt image text or author's comment as it always make me aware of the effort you put where I would normally be ignorance of.

@Zelkova: I'm glad you appreciate these things xP Such appreciation makes the effort feel worthwhile!

I feel like in the next page Toby's face is going to be dirty already. Home missed him so much it jumped onto his face :D

I'm not really convinced. People already tried to steal the cuiburn before, when they were still under the farm's care. How can cuiburn be simultaneously impossible to interact with and commonly farmed?

Reply H0lyhandgrenade, April 3rd, 2019, 11:54 am

@The_mad_one: They weren't stealing them to farm them, they just intended to kill them and take their hides, which are super valuable. They're difficult to farm properly because while seemingly docile for the most part, if their mood fouls they get REALLY dangerous. As a result, they're not actually farmed commonly at all. Cuiburn farmers are few.

My word the cuibern have just been living off the land for like 12 years?! Do they even need a farm?!

Poor Toby looks a little spaced out.

Reply Sunbeast66 (Guest), April 4th, 2019, 6:22 am

Honestly it looks like Toby is looking around at the farm in the distance, much more natural looking than copy pasting the same image even if it would be less effort. Really gives the impression that he's only partially listening to the conversation the rest of them are having behind him. Of course, this is very much a case of an observer reading a ton into every artistic choice when sometimes the fictional curtains are just blue rather than representing the concept of depression.

I love this! I can audibly hear the wind through the tall grass because you took the time to redraw them and their hair each time.
Also, is toby non-verbal now?

You know, I could totally see Atty looking like Toby when he's older.
