In Dishonored, there's one bit in the end where Pendleton might say 'Good Show, Corvo!' Me and my sis have been saying it all the time ever since.

This page is so beautiful and so full of emotion!

Someone punch the king. Please! He ruined this moment and I hate him. However, I love you that you pulled off making such a hateable character.

That and... as much as I will always be disgusted by his actions especially after he got on the soapbox about being better than his brother... I kind of still hope he finds redemption as a man.

Dammit, H0ly. You do such beautiful work with eyes. Being able to convey so much emotion through them. I am quite jelly.

How do eyes? D:

@Luxnight: There's a few things to consider, if you're asking in seriousness =)

Most of eye emotion comes through what the eyebrows are doing. Eyebrows say a lot. Then there's how wide the eyes are, how much of the iris is visible. How focused the gaze is (how close together the pupils are and such), and how small the pupil is, too. A large pupil conotes emotions such as sadness, or love, or calm, etc, while a narrow pupil conotes anger, or fear, or surprise, etc. Then there's surface aesthetic stuff like shinies which make things look nice, or drawing shinies in a way that implies the eyes are watery from tears (which I shoulda done with more care here probably, kinda forgot). I also find making characters irises paler when they're liked shocked or angry or wtv helps get the feeling across better since it accentuates the small pupils thing more, even tho it's total bull lololol.

And that's my impromptu eye emotion tutorial =D

In the second panel Chris is crying as a mother but in the last panel she miiight have actually noticed Toby. I'm not sure but either way, the feels!! D:

I just realized, it's hopeless... She'll never recognize Toby without his signature dirt smudges! lol

Also, thanks for the eye tutorial, H0ly! Very helpful tips! :D

Yes she does.

I imagine the king talking in a funny british accent

Reply NatsFan, May 16th, 2018, 5:07 pm

Toby's close-up veins look kind of like tears when placed next to Chris's close-up. I think I love it.
