Not hastily at all...

That's a peculiar military dress code where the guards are allowed to wear their hair under their helmet in such a way that they can't see anything.

@The_mad_one: Oh right, forgot to say. He's like a guard who appeared way back in chapter 2 and 3 or something? Felt it'd been a while since we saw him xD

This king is really breaking my nerves at how he just doesn't seem to care about anyone. I mean, this is their son we're talking about. She's not acting crazy. She's acting like a parent.

Reply chaos-of-vinnie, April 18th, 2018, 3:25 pm

@MK_Wizard: I feel like its more because he's not only been brought up in this atmosphere where his parents and them before them also acted this way, but he's also the king and also has a sort of manner and faced he has to keep up, also someone has to be more calm XD

I have faith that he cares otherwise surely he wouldn't of tried so hard to get him back and been so annoyed to begin with?

@chaos-of-vinnie: I want to believe he cares, but I feel like he cares more about image and about not losing a "prize". I mean, he only married Chris because he wanted a special wife (aka a specific kind of trophy wife). The king is not a good guy and while upbringing can influence a person in some ways, at this point, the guy's an adult. Anything he does now is on him including a lack of caring.

@MK_Wizard: Hmm well yes you do raise some interesting points!

You are not wrong, but i find it problematic that a society glorifies frantic parentality. Cuz the moment you’re not frantic you’re a bad parent, even if franticness is not in your personnality.

The king cares to the extent that his son is his heir: begetting a healthy heir and raising it to one's liking is a difficult and distracting task. This one is a keeper: looks just like him, takes after him, is past the baby stage, and is ready for a man's training.

Ugh, who wants to beget another one? With what partner?

Unless the benevolent side of this king is going to be a reveal, so far our storyteller hasn't given him any particular action to show anything other than ice. He was enthusiastic about that other kingdom--but the only examples of people we saw from there were elitist snots, and he recommended that Chris be nice to them without reservation.

Yes, faith. Naturally. Because why wouldn't she have faith in the dude who is responsible for the death of her father, (as far as she knows) her brother, blackmailing her into marriage and everything that comes with it? Honestly, if Chris doesn't get to murder him at the end of this story, I won't be satisfied.

The king is such an arsehole, Chris's reaction is more how ANY EVEN HALF-DECENT PARENT WOULD ACT. 8I

Also OMG OMG this might mean she might bump into Toby aaaah.
