I imagine that getting straw to thread into a spinning wheel is just as frustrating as figuring out how they work. Our guy here though seems to have mastered the art. The ruddy git.

I may not know how to spin a wheel but I'm sure that if I did I would be a pretty respectable guy. It's not like I wear make-up.

Being a self-respecting guy, I now realise I should investigate the way spinning wheels work.

Reply Iarei (Guest), November 9th, 2013, 8:13 pm

Oh don't mind me, I'm just turning straw into gold over here. Don't try to learn how it's done or anything.

@Iarei: but if she did, we'd have no story...

Blasphemy I agree. How dare the main character try to learn something useful.

Reply RadicalTrain, November 10th, 2013, 11:34 am

Uh, only the BEST kind of self respecting guy, that's what.

To quote: "We have enough dragon-fighting vikings but do we have enough bread-making vikings?"

In short, not all guys have to be your stereotypical dood. Us having unique talents make us cool, too, Ms. I'm-in-a-Prison-Getting-Straw-Turned-into-Gold-for-the-Price-of-a-Hug.

The self respecting man that's gonna get you out of there, so no whining.

Reply Holly (Guest), November 12th, 2013, 9:22 pm

The kind of guy that respects himself to the poinr that he doesn't give a crap if what he is doing is accepted as "proper" to his gender. Kind of like a girl who wants to go on adventures?

I have been waiting for this scene! :3

Reply Metastriker (Guest), November 13th, 2013, 9:12 am

Ghandi clearly didn't respect himself

We skipped straight from Chapter 3 Page 18 to Chapter 3 page 36.
...Now I really want to know what happened in those missing pages. xD

Brief moment to offer kudos! You have realistic spinning illustrations! :D :D :D

You have nooooo idea how much it bugs me when people try to show actual spinning and have no clue how it works. I was shouting at my tv when watching Once Upon a Time. >_> (Okay, Mr Gold *does* know how to spin, but that scene with Cora pulling gold off the bobbin I was all WTF ARE YOU DOING CRAZY LADY ARGGGGH!)

Anyway, weird and random peeves of people who have learned how to actually spin... haha. >_> Your illustrations are perfect; the hands, the bobbin, the flyer, the works. Hurrah. :D Thank you for that! :D

@pixieface: I did have no idea initially and had to research it, so I am glad to hear someone noticed xD Thanks!
