It is at this point, if this were a film or something, that we would probably have a musical number. In which Chris would sing about what she wants out of life, likely whilst interacting with the farm animals and such. Thank christ for silent mediums...

In all seriousness though, sometimes it dismays me about the whole lack of sound things in comics, mostly cuz no one will ever know what the characters SOUND like. Which feels a bit of a pity to me, because I tend to hear how the characters voices sound very distinctly in my head. Helps me write them.

See y'all soon.

Start an extra fund for hiring voice-actors to start an audio book on Youtube! :D

I'm not paying I already gave the idea.

The song 'More than This Provincial Life' (from Beauty and the Beat) seems rather fitting right now xD

The hardest part would be the art which Holy already have. She can simply go on Newgrounds and find all of the voice actors that are more then willing to do this for free just to get their names on something. As for the not so special effects for the video, you just need the right program or find someone who know how to edit.

I'm not a surf, but a serve,
and my enemy is worse,
than any knights curse.

My enemy is the dust, the grime, the filfth, and decay.
I brandish my mop, my broom, and my scouing pan!
My enemies flee or the melt or they die!
But they have friends, and their friends have friends, who have more friends.
Whatever I try,
The dirt never ends!

I'm not a surf but a serve,
And my enemies worse,
Than any knights curse.

(Fairest by Gail Carson Levine as best I can remember)

Well, I always pictured that my main character sounds like me ... and then I tell people they should be grateful for silent mediums.

this comic is so good. its like a 90s disney animation but more realistic.

Reply Mundius, October 30th, 2012, 10:00 pm

@H0lyhandgrenade: KICKSTART IT BECAUSE YOU CAN DO THAT NOW. While other people go and move the text around to make it fit up with what the people are saying (and effects, if we can).

You don't really NEED the money, but hey- free money.

Reply qazox, October 30th, 2012, 10:40 pm

Thank God this isn't a Disney movie. We'd of had 4 musical numbers, and 17 talking animals by now.

Reply Soul Moony, October 31st, 2012, 12:41 am

I agree with qazox... Im very grateful for silent mediums... I never imagine my characters with voices mostly because they tend to sound like people I know... then I do something horrible to the character and then look to that person face to face is never the same anymore.

As soon as I saw the page preview, I half-thought she was going to to start singing, lol xD

Did she just break the 4th wall...

@H0lyhandgrenade: [Interested] Do you do the lettering for this too? It's very neat.

@Charlotte057: [Amused] Saying someone has an English accent is like saying someone has hair. What kind of hair? What kind of accent? Oxford? Yorkshire? Estuary? Birmingham? Bristol? So many options.

Reply H0lyhandgrenade, November 1st, 2012, 12:32 am

@Sign Seeker7: Yep, hand lettered =) Thanks!

T-T That's one of the two reasons why I'm not a comic artist.
- While I have good ideas, my artistry is kinda.... weak. I'm sure with practice I could get very good...
- My handwriting is bunk.

Lol Disney princess style XD
Aww I can understand her dilemma; I would feel trapped too.

Your dimensions and backgrounds seemed to have levelled up, things are looking super! :)
I hear sound effects and their voices in my head when I read, but, it would be nice to see how you perceive them.

I'm slowly working through these old comics and I don't know if you're reading the comments anymore, but can you think of any soundie-analogs that might approximate the voices of your characters?
