It's over... It's all over guys. All done now. We saw this thing through.

It's pretty weird coming to the end of a project this long. Something I started writing as a kid and finished making as an adult. I'm glad I did it, though. I've got a lot of stuff to say about it, buuut not here. Maybe I'll make a video and talk about it, and I can answer any questions or anything. I don't much like to talk to much about the story while I'm writing and posting it, because I don't like to inform opinions outside of the story itself. Not so bad now, though.

There'll be more stories in the future, and I'll be sure to let it be known when I'm working on them. In the meanwhile, there'll be Mokepon still going on, and my twitter is a good place to keep up with me https://twitter.com/h0lysarthole

Thanks for sticking with me, and thanks for reading. I hope you enjoyed it ^^

Man, it feels really crazy to see a webcomic reach it's completion. Amazing work!

Reply Caio (Guest), September 17th, 2019, 7:20 pm

Very good work, Holy, this was a great webcomic. I spent some time thinking it was going to change the whole story of the original tale, but instead it followed pretty much the same plot but it had a whole different interpretation to the events (I think Mokepon does the same thing). It was a delight to see it unfold, although it was a bit confusing in the end (hope the video makes it easier!). I'm hyped to see your future work.

Reply ToastyBuns, September 17th, 2019, 7:34 pm

It's been a great ride! Been following this since the beginning and it's crazy to see it finally end. Can't wait to see whatever you have in store for the future.

Congratulations!!! I only caught up when the epilogue was just starting, but it still feels like an amazing journey. This was a really great story with fantastic characters and I definitely think about this story when I need inspiration. Can't wait to see what else you have planned in the future!

Reply MK_Wizard, September 17th, 2019, 9:21 pm

Wow. So everything ended where it started. Great story. Definitely a great retelling of a classic tale.

Reply DianaJones, September 17th, 2019, 9:34 pm

I found this story back when it was on a webcomic site that I cannot remember, but definitely started with 'ink', shortly before that site shut down. I was devastated because I loved the take on the story and was absolutely hooked. Finding it again on Smackjeeves was a huge relief for me, and I have thoroughly enjoyed this journey. For that I thank you profusely (*cue bowing*). I'm super sad to see this end, in a way, and also incredibly happy to see it completed. Which, congrats, you're amazing for completing something you started when you were a kid!
I would definitely be interested in seeing more of your thought process for this project via video or any other medium, and I will be on the edge of my seat for any future works.
Thank you again! This has been an awesome journey, and I hope there will be future ones, you're super, super amazing.

It has been an absolute joy being able to read this comic as its gone through its twists and turns. Thank you so much for creating this, and for giving it to the world to enjoy.

Reply Jack (Guest), September 17th, 2019, 10:48 pm

I actually gasped when I saw it was the end.

Amazing comic! I started reading back in, I think 2013? And it's been one of the few I've stuck around, sitting on my hands waiting eagerly for the next page. Amazing. I'm glad to have been around for this terrific experience!

Reply Biev (Guest), September 18th, 2019, 2:47 am

I would very much enjoy a video that explains the story! I have so many questions! I think because I don't know the original story, I had a harder time than most trying to make sense of what was going on.

Reply eishiya, September 18th, 2019, 8:51 am

Congrats! This was a big project to finish, and it's gone through so much just on its own (SJ, then MangaMagazine, which then turned into InkBlazers, then back to SJ). Welcome to the tiny, tiny club of people who have finished their webcomics!

Reply leaire, September 18th, 2019, 9:04 am

I’ve had this tab open on my iPad for god knows how long so that I could always quickly check out the new page. If feels surreal that I’m now going to close it.

Reply ArtIndustries, September 18th, 2019, 9:15 am

Congrats! I loved this story! Thank you for carrying it all the way through to completion! ^^ I hope you create a physical book of it sometime so I can nab it!

Reply UnluckyFay, September 18th, 2019, 10:59 am

Thanks for all your hard work!

Reply Sushi (Guest), September 18th, 2019, 12:26 pm

It's hard to imagine I won't be welcomed by a new page next week... ^^
I will be looking forward to your video. It's fun to have my own interpretation of the story, but I won't feel complete until I've heard what you had in mind !

Reply trotyiegyed, September 18th, 2019, 3:15 pm

Oh my I can't believe it's over! I remember I started reading it on Inkspace or whatever it name was :)
I really appreciate it that you finished this comic, from the beginning to the end, and I assure you I'm very curious what other stories you want to tell :D

Reply kikibug, September 18th, 2019, 6:49 pm

Wow. This comic has felt like one of those things that feels a bit eternal. I began it close to when it started so its prolly been 8? years! I can't believe you got to the end. much congratulations.

Reply Seve, September 18th, 2019, 9:29 pm

I've been following this comic for years now, silently. It always felt so real, the characters are human, and flawed, and even though there's cow dragons and fae and magic, it made me feel like any of this could actually happen to me or anyone. I loved it, I loved every page. It's meaningful for me that this is my first comment here, in the last page of one of the first webcomics I've ever read and one of those pioneers that slowly encouraged me to draw and publish my own comics.

So thank you for this, it was an amazing experience. It was a part of my life, it was there as I grew into a *semi-functional* adult. I look forward to your new projects!

Reply Vapor (Guest), September 18th, 2019, 9:33 pm

Wow, hard top believe it's over! Amazing work for sure. I look forward to future story discussions and seeing what comes next as far as future comics. =) <3

So, uh...what do I have to look forward to on Wednesdays? It’s been here for years!!

Reply Ehhwa, September 19th, 2019, 1:11 am

It's finally over.... It doesn't feel real! After all these years it feels like I'm going to expect a new page.
Amazing work and I loved seeing not only how this story/character progressed but also your artistic skills! Thank you for all your hard work and I look forward to how Mokepon finishes up and any other comics you work on in the future!

Reply Riverfox237 (Guest), September 19th, 2019, 8:36 am

OH MY WORD THANK YOU, I WAS SO AFRAID WE'D GET SOME KIND OF HORROR MOVIE ENDING!!! Yes turn away from the creepy woods my dude, you dont need to go there, let the Fair be Fair and you go be a normal boy prince without all that additional anxiety.

That was such an amazing story, Holy! I'm really impressed, and to actually reach the END of a webcomic is a super rare occasion! I'm happy Mokepon is still going on so we can continue to enjoy your lovely work. ^^ And it's nice that the characters got at least a little bit of a happy ending, reconciling between family members (and the possibility of a cubuirn petting zoo near the city, which is my headcanon now). Thank you for sharing your story!

It ain't over till the cows come home, and by golly, the cows are going home.

Been a fantastic ride reading this story as it progressed over the years. You did a wonderful job, and you succeeded in closing out a great personal challenge for yourself. Here's to your future works!

Reply Guest, September 20th, 2019, 10:15 pm

Great story. I'm not in charge of deciding how it ends, but I gotta say I really like what you decided to close and what you decided to keep ambiguous/open-ended. Thanks for having us along for the ride.

Reply Laurent_Lacroix, September 21st, 2019, 3:57 am

I'll miss reading this every week. You did a fantastic job.

Reply FireStorm55 (Guest), September 21st, 2019, 4:37 pm

Congratulations! I've been following this comic since... well I can't remember exactly. A long time. And I have to say this has been one of my favorite retellings of Rumpelstiltskin. There was the gorgeous artwork, of course, and interesting magic system and world setup. And I was impressed that, while I admittedly did find Chris kind of an annoying dumb@$$, it never got to the point where I hated her or wanted the bad things she was charging into to actually happen to her.
Thanks for your dedication to seeing this to the end... I hope I can afford to purchase this for my shelf someday soon (assuming you're going to be printing this) Cheers!

Oh wow! I started reading this comic from close to the beginning and it's a little bittersweet now that it's ended. This was amazing and thank you for such a deep and wonderful story! <3

Reply Dalena (Guest), September 29th, 2019, 8:15 am

Dang I can't believe it's over. I remember seeing the first draft/teaser? on deviantart and followed the webcomic here when it officially started. Can't believe it finally came to an end but thank you for sharing this with us. Fantastic story and art

I hope you return to this weird fantasy land in a future story.

Reply Ultimate the Hedgehog, October 7th, 2019, 10:38 pm

I mean- I've called it for a long time but... it's pretty obvious Gabe is the Fair's son.
I mean- he's in Mokepon wearing the same flipping mask.

Reply Guest, October 9th, 2019, 10:42 pm

It’s always irked me that I’ve never seen anyone else mention this

Reply maaari, October 13th, 2019, 6:21 pm

It has finished! I feel so empty now... But at the same time I feel so motivated and inspired! I've always commented as a guest with this name, but just now I've finally created an account (and I'll probably finally start making a comic after inktober thanks to you XD ) Thank you so much for inspiring me and everyone else! It's so fun to see how much you've grown since the first chapters. It's been a blast to be able to be a part of this in the comment section ;P I'm so happy I found this webcomic, it's been there for me for such a long part of my life. It holds a special little place in my heart.

I've been reading your comic for years and years, since pretty dang near the start.
I've been making so many theories in my head. And by being so invested in the story, I even forgot this story is actually a retelling of a fairy tale several times. You really made this into something special :')

Now I have to know, will there be hard copies for sale? You previously mentioned that there'd be after the story would finish (which it has right now) and I NEED to buy them. (Is there some way to pre-order them maybe? XP )

Anyways, thank you so much for finishing this story! It's amazing, you're amazing, you deserve all the praise and glory you can get! >w<

Thank you so much h0ly for the journey. I remember finding this comic, as someone else here has commented, on a different comic platform, I don't know how many years ago. Your art and story drew me in, and I can't believe I've made it here to the end of the comic.

I would absolutely love to hear/read your post-commentary on the comic, in whatever form you choose.

I feel privileged to finally finish reading this story :)

Reply Oly-RRR, November 8th, 2019, 3:51 pm

This has been SO GOOD! And sad but I still like this ending - all proper endings are at least a bit sad just because they are ending, anyway. It was nice being walked out of the story by a herd of cuiburn. :D
